NOTE: EPD will be doing a more detailed news release, but for now here is some information about police activity involving multiple agencies:
Springfield, Ore. – This was an outside agency assist. Homeland security based out of Seattle Washington reached out regarding a suspect. There was a pursuit, and the vehicle was ditched. Multiple agencies were involved, Eugene Police Street Crimes Unit, EPD patrol, Lane County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police, Springfield Police Department, Eugene and Springfield SWAT teams, drones, and EPD K9. Two people were taken into custody without incident. In Springfield.

the two suspects along with EPD SWAT after an extensive search.

Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office
Wanted burglary suspect Gary Moyer has been arrested and is now in custody in Oregon. Moyer is wanted on a $1,000,000 warrant in Kitsap County.
He was arrested in Eugene, Oregon following a warrant service this morning [Feb. 23rd, 2023] in Port Orchard by Gig Harbor Police in conjunction with local and federal law agencies. In addition to being wanted in multiple jurisdictions in Washington State, Moyer also faces charges in Oregon. He will be extradited to Washington State after facing criminal charges in Oregon.
