Eugene, Ore. – On September 7, 2021, the Eugene Police Property Crimes Unit asked for the public’s help in identifying the suspect who robbed CJ’s Deli, 45 Division Avenue.
The suspect in this case not only robbed the cashier at gun point, but also seven patrons of the deli who happened to be in the Eugene business during the robbery. Detectives used the public tips that came in, along with other clues, to determine the suspect to be PATRICK HEATH BISHOP, age 46 at the time.
A statewide Attempt To Locate was initiated for Bishop. On March 3, 2022, in Portland, Oregon, Bishop was the victim of a Hit and Run crash that fatally wounded him. The Hit and Run Crash was investigated by the Portland Police Bureau’s Major Crash Team under Case #21-57960.

Seeking Public’s Help Identifying CJ’s Deli Robbery Suspect
Eugene Police Property Crimes Unit is seeking the public’s help to identify a suspect in the August 26 robbery of CJ’s Deli, 45 Division Avenue. The deli was robbed at gun point by a suspect described as a white male, wearing a black and white ball cap, red handkerchief mask, light-colored flannel shirt, blue jeans and red suede Adidas brand shoes. The suspect held up the CJ’s Deli cashier and each individual patron of the establishment before leaving the store in a silver or light tan Chrysler PT Cruiser. The PT Cruiser has what appears to be a vertical dent on the left rear door.
