Stolen Vehicle Traffic Stop Ends in Crash and Arrest

Eugene, OR – At about 1:10 p.m. today, an officer saw a stolen vehicle at 8th and High. The vehicle was listed as stolen out of Ashland, Oregon. It pulled into a Dutch Brothers at 7th and Olive.

 

The officer initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle was appearing like it would flee, and a second officer moved in to pin it. The vehicle eluded and went south on Olive. It ended up going down an alley, where it hit some bollards, and

broke two of them. It ended up running into a building and the airbags deployed.

 

The vehicle had a broken axle. Officers had to break the windows to get the suspect out. The suspect was taken to a local hospital for evaluation prior to getting lodged at jail.
