Eugene, Ore. – On April 10 at around 11:30 p.m., an officer spotted a vehicle in a parking at 4716 Royal Avenue and it had a man and woman standing outside it, by the doors.
The vehicle, a Honda Accord, was listed as stolen. Officers saw the man later identified as JOSHUA ALLEN CONWAY, age 40, of Springfield, rummaging through the driver’s side. Conway saw the officer and then began walking away. Officers told Conway to stop but he began to run, eventually going eastbound on Royal, and he was throwing things from his pockets as he ran.
K9 Officers Travis Palki and Owen Griffith responded with their K9 partners to search. They teamed up and located Conway in the area.
Conway was taken into custody without incident and lodged at Lane County Jail on four warrants, and also charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Escape in the Third Degree, and Interfering. The woman who had been with him was not located. The vehicle was returned to its owner. Case 22-05622
