Springfield, Ore. – Due to several observant neighbors, and a great team effort with responding officers, SPD was able to quickly take a theft suspect into custody regarding a string of incidents this morning near the 300 block of S. 68th & S. 69th Places.
The initial call stated the male was seen entering a vehicle and removing property, then seen entering backyards, followed by more citizens observing the male accessing properties and exhibiting suspicious behavior. Upon contact, the male fled from officers and was quickly apprehended. It was found he had stolen items from at least one vehicle, multiple yards, as well as trespassed on multiple properties without permission.
ARRESTED: MICHAEL SCOTT BODINE, age 35.
CHARGES: Unlawful Entry Into Motor Vehicle, Criminal Trespass, Theft- Multiple Counts of Each
SPD is aware of several recent thefts from vehicles in this neighborhood and surrounding areas, and will be comparing surveillance footage to Bodine.
