Information was relayed by the caller that the suspect, later identified as BRIAN WAYNE CLINTON WYNN, had broken into their vehicle and stolen items. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, Wynn eluded them through the residential neighborhood traveling east.

Officers were able to safely follow Wynn but lost sight of his vehicle shortly after the pursuit started due to Wynn’s driving. Moments later the vehicle was located, unoccupied, near South 46th Street and Daisy. A perimeter was set up and both an SPD K9 unit and multiple SPD Unmanned Aerial Systems (drones) were deployed in an attempt to locate Wynn.

Just after 8:00 a.m. SPD received a call of a stolen vehicle from 4475 Daisy Street. The vehicle was left unattended while warming up. The suspect description matched Wynn.

SPD’s Animal Control Officer was on his way to an unrelated call on 28th Street when he observed the freshly stolen vehicle parked in the WalMart parking lot. Officers responded to the area and once there were sufficient resources in place approached the vehicle. Wynn was still in the driver’s seat of the stolen vehicle and attempted to flee on foot as the vehicle was boxed in to avoid an additional pursuit.

After a short foot chase, Wynn was taken to the ground and detained without further incident.

Wynn appeared to be under the influence of methamphetamine, complained of knee pain, and reported his heart was racing. Eugene Springfield Fire responded to the location and evaluated Wynn, clearing him medically. In an abundance of caution, Wynn was transported by SPD to the hospital where he was cleared to be lodged in jail on the below listed charges.
