Lane County, OR – The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is aware of recent threats that have been circulating nationwide on social media.  The threats, although not specific or directed to our area, have been towards schools and are primarily being distributed on the social media platform TikTok.

 

All threats are taken very seriously.  The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is monitoring the information and will investigate any threats towards our schools or community.  “We are not currently aware of any direct or specific threats towards the schools or community in our area.” LCSO

Anyone with information regarding a school or community threat is asked to promptly report it to authorities.  The Lane County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency number is 541-682-4150.  School safety information or tips can also be provided to the Safe Oregon tip line at 1-844-472-3367.  If reporting an emergency, please dial 911.
