Eugene, Ore. – At 6:45 p.m. on February 7, Eugene Police received a report of a dispute at WinCo, 4275 Barger Drive. A man was reported holding down a suspect who had been recording a female in the restroom.
Eugene Police units responded and found the victim discovered the suspect filming her while she was in a restroom stall. The female’s boyfriend, age 21, had been waiting outside for her, and after the female told him of the incident, he confronted the suspect as the suspect exited the restroom.
The suspect, later identified as Bryant Aguilar-Beltran, age 21, of Eugene, is reported to have pushed past him and started running away. The boyfriend chased him and was able to tackle him in a grassy area outside the store and hold him down. EPD officers took Aguilar-Beltran into custody and transported him to Lane County Jail on charges of Invasion of Personal Privacy in the First Degree.
During the follow-up investigation EPD detectives located several other videos, which were taken around the time of the WinCo incident, but the additional women in the recordings have yet to identified. Detectives are also investigating an incident involving Aguilar-Beltran from the same Winco that occurred on November 9, 2022, and are looking to identify potential victims.
In addition, a third incident occurred on Friday, August 19, into the early morning hours of August 20, at The Hippie Museum, located at 535 Main Street, Springfield. At the time the venue was hosting a private birthday party, with a DJ. A female using the women’s restroom was surreptitiously recorded, but the victim has yet to be identified.
Eugene Police Violent Crimes Unit is following up on the case and is seeking to speak with other females who may have used the women’s restroom at the Barger Drive Winco between 6 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, or The Hippie Museum on Friday, August 19, into the early morning hours of August 20, 2022. Detectives also request information on any unreported sexually-based incidents involving Aguilar-Beltran. They are asked to please contact Detective Jed McGuire at 541.682.6308, or JMcguire@eugene-or.gov
