Eugene, Ore. – Jesse D. Yoakum is back in the Lane County Jail. He was arrested Feb. 21st, 2022 on the charge of violation of a restraining order connected to his domestic violence conviction. Yoakum appeared in court today for a case management hearing on that conviction.
JESSE D YOAKUM (click name for more info) was originally accused of strangling a female victim, and attempting to hit her with a bat. The victim armed herself with a handgun and shot the Yoakum one time, striking him in the shoulder.
Yoakum plead guilty on Jan. 5th, 2022 to assault in the forth degree, and unlawful use of a weapon. Both misdemeanors.
Yoakum was sentenced to 34 days in county jail, and 36 months of probation ending on Jan. 05, 2025. Part of the sentencing prohibited Yoakum from possessing firearms or ammunition pursuant to ORS 166.255 and 166.250. The court ordered Yoakum to surrender all firearms in his possession at that time.
An order of no contact was put in to place on Oct. 07, 2021 for the victim.
Yoakum is currently in the Lane County Jail facing contempt of court charges, a court request, and violation of a restraining order.

On 10/05/21 at approximately 4:21pm the Lane County Sheriff’s Office received the report of a domestic dispute resulting on one person being shot in the 40000 blk of Log Creek Rd. north of Marcola. Deputies along with Troopers from the Oregon State Police responded.
Upon their arrival authorities located 42 year old Jesse Yoakum with a gunshot wound to his shoulder. A 35 year old female was also contacted inside of the residence. Investigation revealed that Yoakum had strangled the female and attempted to hit her with a bat. She armed herself with a handgun and shot the male one time, striking him in the shoulder.
Yoakum was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
