Lane County Man Sentenced to Over 5 Years in Assault case

Eugene, Ore. – TANI NAKOA KALANI was transferred this morning, 3/21/23, to Coffee Creek Correctional Facility for intake.

Kalani was convicted and sentenced, in a plea deal, earlier this month, to 5 years, 10 months on one count of assault in the second degree.

This is a measure 11 crime, and as such Kalani will have to serve each and every day of his sentence. Kalani was in county lock up for 1 year, 1 month. Kalani will be in prison for approx. 4 years, 9 months, after his time served in county is subtracted.

After release, Short will then serve 3 years on PPS, parole basically.
