The driver of the Dakota is identified as Trisha Marie Whitlock, age 50, of Eugene. She was transported by Eugene Springfield Fire to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Tahoe is identified as Marina Anatasia Irish, age 26, of Veneta. She was taken to the hospital by a family member.

Two dogs had been in the Dakota and one was transported by an EPD officer to an emergency veterinarian and the other did not appear to require emergency treatment.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Eugene, Ore. – At 11:18 p.m., May 19, there was a head-on crash reported on the overpass on Beltline, just south of Roosevelt. The crash was reported to be blocking lanes.


The involved vehicles were a Dodge Dakota pickup and a Chevy Tahoe. Eugene Springfield Fire and Eugene Police responded. The driver of the Dodge was transported to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

A dog that had been in one of the vehicle was transported by an EPD officer to the Emergency Veterinarian as it was injured. EPD’s Major Collision Investigation team responded.
