Linn County, Ore. – On Sunday, January 30, 2022, at approximately 7:42 PM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian crash on Hwy 34 near milepost 16 west of Denney School Road.
Preliminary investigation revealed a pedestrian, identified as Lanny R. Aerni (71) of Lebanon, was in the lanes of travel when he was struck by a westbound white Chevrolet Astro Van, operated by Colby D. Montigue (22) of Sweet Home. Aerni was collecting debris from the roadway at the time of the crash.

Aerni sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.
OSP was assisted by Linn County Sheriff’s Office and ODOT.
