Fatal Crash HWY 126W Walton

Walton, Ore. – On February 27, 2022, at approximately 05:49 PM, Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to a report of a two-vehicle head on collision on Hwy 126W near milepost 28.

 

Preliminary investigation revealed an eastbound silver Hyundai Santa Fe, operated by Sadie Ann Cervantes (24) of Florence, left its lane of travel for an unknown reason. The Hyundai crossed into the oncoming westbound lane and collided head-on into a white Toyota Prius, operated by June Michele Lemke (47) of Gold Beach.

Lemke sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. Cervantes was transported to an area hospital with injuries.

 

Hwy 126W was closed for approximately 5 hours following the crash while Oregon State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit completed an investigation into the crash.
