Fatal 126E Crash Springfield

Springfield, Ore. – On 11-26-22 at 10:21pm, while stopped at a red light (42nd St and Main St), a Springfield patrol Officer observed a dark colored Range Rover pass him eastbound on Main St at 80-90mph.

The Officer attempted to maintain visual of the vehicle and initiate a stop, but due to extreme speeds, was never able to and no pursuit occurred. The Range Rover continued Eastbound out of the city at speeds over 120mph.

As Officers began searching the area of Hwy 126E and Thurston Rd, dispatch received a 911 call regarding a motor vehicle accident in the 3800blk of Hwy 126E. Officers arrived to the scene within seconds to find the same vehicle that had previously been observed.

The driver of the vehicle was found to be deceased. Alcohol and speed are believed to be contributing factors.
