Eugene Man Charged with Murder in Deadly Shooting Dispute

Eugene, Ore. – At 12:28 a.m. on March 14, Eugene Police Patrol units responded to a report of a dispute with a shot fired at E. 13th Avenue and Patterson Street.  Arriving units located two subjects with minor gunshot injuries, and one subject deceased in a crashed vehicle nearby.

Eugene Police Violent Crimes Unit has arrested ELIJAH MICHAEL PRUITT, age 20, of Eugene, on charges of Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

The deceased victim in this case is Fernando Allen Giffen-Vallejo, age 19, of Cottage Grove.

EPD’s Violent Crimes Unit responded and is continuing to investigate this incident.
