Springfield, Ore. – Around 2:00 am on Monday, June 27, Eugene Springfield Fire crews responded to multiple reports of a house fire and explosion on the 1500 block of 7th Street in Springfield.
The house was fully engulfed in flames by the time crews arrived and the property is a complete loss. Springfield Utility Board was contacted and responded to the scene to disconnect power to the structure. Crews were successful in containing the fire to this property and no other neighboring structures were damaged or lost.

There were no occupants in the house and there were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire and explosion are currently under investigation.
