Springfield, Ore. – At approximately 9:15pm on April 12th, 2022, Central Lane 911 received several calls regarding a dispute involving multiple subjects at 775 28th Street in Springfield.
Witnesses reported a man with a knife had stabbed another subject. Patrol officers quickly responded and found a man, later identified as Robin Joseph Roberts, in a parking area, holding a bloody knife. Through verbal de-escalation, Officers successfully got the man to drop the knife and detained him.
Officers then located two additional males, later identified as Richard Brumbach and Joshuah Vining, who were unconscious and covered in blood, having, apparently, been stabbed, multiple times. Officers rendered aid until the arrival of medics with Eugene Springfield Fire but, despite life-saving efforts, the two subjects succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Robin Roberts was transported to SPD and later transported to and lodged at the Lane County Jail on the listed charges.
This investigation is ongoing, and Detectives with the Springfield Police Department are working with the Lane County District Attorney’s office and investigators with the Lane County Medical Examiner’s office.
