Eugene, Ore. – On March 14 at 5:34 p.m., a Eugene Police officer responded to Century Link, 112 E. 10th Avenue, after a burglary was reported in progress.
An employee had been inside the building working and heard power tools outside a door to the business. The employee advised 911 a man was using tools to try and get in. The employee evacuated out the back door to safety.
An arriving officer found entry had been made by a male suspect and requested a K9 to help clear the building. The Drone Team sergeant arrived and flew the drone around about half the expansive downstairs area while awaiting the arrival of K9 Team Officer Travis Palki and Jax. The K9 Team arrived and subsequently the Drone Team sergeant heard the elevator start up.
Then officers heard singing from inside the elevator, which stopped on the second floor. Officers next heard someone rummaging around upstairs. The K9 officer spotted the suspect, later identified as ISAAC LINNMATEOS MULHERN, age 28, approaching the stairwell. The K9 team challenged Mulhern, while a Patrol officer and the Drone sergeant took Mulhern into custody without incident.
Mulhern was lodged at Lane County Jail on two warrants and for Probable Cause charges of Burglary in the Second Degree and Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree.
