Bank Suspect Nabbed in Springfield Rapid Patrol Response

Springfield, Ore – On October 19th, 2022 Springfield Police  responded to a reported robbery at 1377 Mohawk Blvd. location of Umpqua Bank. A male suspect (later identified as Joshua Hayden Scott) entered the location armed with a box cutter and and informed bank employees that his intent was to rob the location. Scott, armed with the aforementioned box cutter, demanded money from bank employees before jumping over the counter.

Scott then exited the location, having taken possession of currency from the bank. Employees were able to relay Scott’s description and location to Police Dispatchers, allowing Patrol Officers to respond to his last known location.

Within 4 minutes of the initial call, Patrol Officers were on scene and the suspect was apprehended without incident. Scott was found in possession of the box cutter and the stolen currency. 

Springfield Police Detectives and the Federal Bureau of Investigations were both contacted to assist with the investigation. 

Scott was lodged at the Lane County Jail on the below listed probable cause charges and an outstanding warrant.

WARRANT: EUGENE MUNICIPAL COURT – DISORDERLY CONDUCT, RESISTING ARREST, & ESCAPE
