Eugene, Ore. – At 9:45 p.m. on December 10, Eugene Police units and EPD’s Major Collision Investigation Team responded to a wrong-way driver crash on Beltline Hwy.
A man, later identified as Justin Jon Mundell, age 48, of Eugene, had been driving his Mercedes G5 SUV westbound in the eastbound lane of Beltline Highway, just west of Coburg Road and crashed head-on into a Kia Spectra going eastbound.
The 41-year-old female driver of the Kia was entrapped and extricated by Eugene Springfield Fire before being transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
An investigation found Mundell to be intoxicated and he was lodged at Lane County Jail on charges of DUII and Assault in the Second Degree.
